CW3E Welcomes Luke Furtek

March 12, 2026

Luke Furtek

Luke Furtek joined CW3E as a Project Policy Analyst in March 2026. Prior to joining CW3E, he worked as an analyst at the Coastal Observing Research and Development Center (CORDC). At CORDC, Luke supported research on maritime competition in the South China Sea, with a focus on Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA). His work emphasized policy approaches to counter Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing and unlawful maritime incursions, including efforts to integrate state-backed and private-sector capabilities into decision-ready products. He also contributed to building internal systems that translated research outputs into accessible, usable datasets to better preserve institutional knowledge.
