Hydroclimate Testbed (HCT)
Create a Hydroclimate Testbed (HCT) in partnership with NOAA/ESRL’s Physical Sciences Division (PSD) and the National Integrated Drought Information System (NIDIS)
- Represents a climate-focused analog to NOAA’s Hydrometeorology Testbed (HMT)
- Provides linkages across NOAA’s Western RISA’s, Research Labs and Universities supporting the development of climate-focused services related to fresh-water extremes
- Engages expertise from NOAA, SIO, UCSD, CA DWR, CEC, USGS, USACE, and SCWA
- Supports the Western States Water Council
- Informed by lessons from NOAA/HMT, RISAs (CNAP, CLIMAS, WWA, CIRC), NIDIS, DOI Climate Science Centers, USGS’ “Arkstorm”
- Takes advantage of remote sensing (e.g., satellite) data
