completely upgrade BBY to a standard RADMet including new enclosure if needed (enclosure added 2021 - but probably needs completely new backplate etc to be standard); definitely new enclosure cover note we may still exclude disdrometer due to the difficulty of keeping it maintained in the salty air - and NOAA has one farther back by the ARO. definitely include GPS since we cannot access NOAA’s instruments anymore due to their private company gps contract. If we need to do band-aids instead Make sure the RS407 is not relying on power from a USB port on the rugged computer. The radios should have has a separate DC power source in the enclosure. Use this unit from McMaster-Carr or something with similar specs: Adapter Cord, Positive, 12V DC, 1.0 Amps, 2.5 mm End ID x 120/240V AC. Swap out the T/RH (pretty confident it is over its calibration cycle, and we have since upgraded to Hygrovue - is this possible with CR300?) swap out the precip gage (HSA corrodes extremely quickly and we aren’t using those with radmets anymore - suggest this be a Texas Electronics gage). The tripod the rain gage is on is also extremely corroded. It was cleaned and leveled but the tripod top can be turned very easily.
