Cold Creek is the largest tributary of the EF Russian River, and appears to have only minor agricultural diversions. CW3E has obtained an encroachment permit from Caltrans for access and installation of the stream gauge and Isco sampler. Our encroachment permit allows us to access the site by notifying Caltrans personnel. The current encroachment permit expires August, 1st 2027.


Maximum Wadeable Level: 2.8 ft on pressure transducer doable on 3/6/2024.  Velocities around 1.5 ft/s in thalweg.  Doable, but wouldn’t want to go any higher.
