NBB is located off of Marysville Rd Upslope from New Bullards Bar and the dam. The station is spread across a steep east-facing slope of unconsolidated. The slope is rocky and brushy.
RAD-Met
- AC power is delivered to the site via a power drop from the nearby warehouse. Power is run from a breaker inside the warehouse to an enclosure at the DWR station upslope and from the enclosure to an outlet our radmet enclosure. Power is run through metal electrical conduit above ground.
- The stand for the steel RAD-Met enclosure sits on a concrete pedestal ( photo ). After the enclosure was attached to the base ( photo ), the based turned out to be a bit wobbly since it was installed on unconsolidated fill, therefore, a unistrut tie back was added ( photo ). A plywood box with a solar powered vent fan covers the enclosure to reduce solar heat gain ( photo ).
- The MRR is mounted on METEK's aluminum tripod and staked to the ground ( photo ). It is located downhill from the RAD-Met enclosure.
- The disdrometer is mounted on a galvanized steel stand ( photo ) that is mounted on a flat triangle of unistrut with a 25 lb barbell attached to each corner of the triangle. The stand was leveled to the steep slope of the hill with rocks. The power supply for the disdrometer is mounted in a stainless steel enclosure attached to the disdrometer stand. AC power to the disdrometer power supply runs from the RAD-Met enclosure.
- The GPS is mounted inside the enclosure ( photo ) and its antenna is mounted on top of the stand ( photo 1 , photo 2 ).
- The cellular antenna is mounted on a separate pole slightly higher up the hill from the enclosure ( photo ) and the RF antenna is mounted on a separate pole slightly down hill from the RAD-Met enclosure ( photo ).
- All cables are covered with split loom.
