-
Radiosondes were launched every three hours from 03Z 31 Jan 25 to 03Z 01 Feb 25. ATC added a new request for us to email an image of the projected path and kml file prior to the launch. This information has been added to the
documentation
.
- One radiosonde failed to complete ground check on two attempts.
- Another radiosonde got stuck during ground check and was temporarily set aside. Douglas was able to resurrect the sonde for the next launch.
- The cellular hotspot was placed up on the window sill which improved reception.
- If heater is used, it needs to be plugged into a different outlet than the sounding system.
- Jim brought over several boxes of radiosonde supplies from the warehouse in Tacoma. They were added to the inventory. Extra 27 gallon plastic totes were purchased from Home Depot to hold all the new supplies.
- Antenna was wiped down with rags and allowed to dry for some time before it was returned to its carry case. Dessicants from the radiosondes were saved and placed in the carry case to absorb any residual moisture.
- Jordan, a cameraman from KING5 news in Seattle was on hand for the 00Z 01 Feb 25 launch. He said footage would be shared with their sister station in San Diego.
- The lock box outside the door to the shed has been replaced with a bigger and better one by Tacoma Water staff. It is no longer a challenge to close it up with the keys inside.
- Douglas took footage with a GoPro borrowed from Scripps Communications. Shots of the sounding computer will need to be edited or scrubbed because the password is visible in large letters on a piece of tape on the keyboard.
- We stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites.
