Y-Line (Lester)

Y-line (YLI) is a RadMet station, one of three CW3E meteorological stations in the Green River watershed, Washington (as of 2023). The other Green River watershed stations are the RadMet station at Headworks (HDW) and the tower SMOIL at Maywood (MYD). YLI station was installed where the town of Lester, Washington used to exist. It is near train tracks and trains do pass by on occasion. There is a small shack next to the site that houses a water pump, and a concrete pad that used to be the foundation for a schoolhouse. There's elk and bear in the area-check the fence when visiting. Power outages are common occurrence - check PSE outage map for updates.  A few notes on PSE:  The outage map timing is not accurate, they are several hours off estimated times on the map.  If the shaded problem area goes away, select the list view on their site and type in Lester.  If Easton comes up, read that info-this location is usually in the Lester power sector for the outage.  We are one of two customers on this transmission line.
