CW3E Surface Meteorology Precipitation Alerts
Sign up to receive precipitation threshold email alerts for sites within the Upper Yampa Watershed. The alerts are based on CW3E deployed surface meteorological stations as well as SNOTEL stations from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. Alerts will be sent when one or more of the stations (see map) observe precipitation amounts greater than 1 inch in 24 hours or 0.25 inches in 16 minutes. Note that the CW3E stations are 2-min data while the SNOTEL data is hourly, so only hourly thresholds will apply to the SNOTEL sites. Alerts will be sent up to four times daily if a station exceeds either threshold and include precipitation amounts for the previous 24 hours and the maximum hourly precipitation and 16-minute precipitation accumulations over the past 24 hours for each station within the watershed.
