Details

After repairing the issue with the cell modems (see troubleshooting doc ), Jacob and Sally visited the site to reinstall a modem and re-establish cell telemetry of the data. We connected the modem and confirmed it powered on and acquired a cell signal. The firmware was already updated to the latest version.

Next we called Douglas to confirm that he was able to connect to the modem via Potter Valley. At first he was not able to connect via Potter Valley but confirmed that he was able to connect directly to the modem from his computer. He checked some settings and ended up needing to open an additional port on the modem that Potter Valley uses to connect (Port # 3001). This port had been accidentally omitted from the modem set up template. Once he opened this port, the loggernet server on Potter Valley was able to connect to the modem and download data. Mission success!
