Summary
Manual Discharge Measurement / Grabbed Datalogger to rechargeDetails
Sarah Burnett / Lisa Katz 8:50am PST
Walked in from the gate. Wading upstream was slightly difficult but not too bad.
Upon arriving, it looked like some leaves had caught on the water level sensor cable, causing water to spill over the top of the stilling well. Removed the leaves and water stopped flowing over the top of the stilling well.
Performed discharge measurement on top of the mini waterfall just upstream of the stilling well. Messed up the first measurement by putting the wrong depths (file PRY_20241217_BAD.tsv). Restarted and did it correctly (PRY_20241217.tsv).
Staff plate 1.48ft, discharge 6.6cfs.
Hobolink datalogger display did not turn on when I pressed a button. I unplugged the battery and solar panel, then the water level sensor cable. Clipped the zipties to remove the datalogger from the t-stake. Wrapped the end of the water level sensor with electrical tape to protect it overnight.
Later (12/18): Called HOBOlink and found out the the barrel jack polarity for charging the datalogger is negative (negative on inside, positive on outside of the barrel).
