SKI is located on private property approximately 20 miles south of Steamboat Springs, CO and 4 miles east of Phippsburg, CO. The station is located on a gentle, SW facing slope in a clearing just below the top of the ridge. The soil is sandy with small alpine flowers, scrub, grass, and forbs. The area was formerly pine forest but has been cleared by logging activities in preparation for potential future development of a ski resort and/or housing.
