SnowVue Install

Details

Team:

Jeri, Adolfo

Details:

The purpose of this trip was to replace the SnowVue sensor that was not working during the previous trip. A few days before, Jacob, Ethan, Adolfo, and Jeri visited the site with this plan in mind, but could not replace the sensor as the bracket to hold the sensor was not left at the site and was not brought from the lab. The team had the bracket shipped overnight to the Stewart’s address to put the sensor up that trip. Jeri and Adolfo returned on the 8th to replace the sensor and Jeri climbed the tower while Adolfo used the computer on the ladder. The sensor was plugged in and did not immediately begin working. They called Ava who walked them through checking the SDI addresses using the terminal emulator and found that the SnowVue had “forgotten” its SDI address and was therefore not working. The SDI address was updated so that it is accurate and the SnowVue began working and checked that there was data being outputted into the tables. They also cut the extra grounding wire from lowering the mast and reconnected the grounding wire into the bolt connected to the grounding rod.
