ECMWF – GFS IVT and IWV Forecasts

Plot Description: Difference in Vertically Integrated Water Vapor Transport (IVT) or Integrated Water Vapor (IWV) from the ECMWF and GFS Forecasts models. Difference in IVT (IWV) is shown for locations where either the ECMWF or GFS IVT is greater than or equal to 200 kg m^-1 s^-1 (15 mm). Contours indicate the GFS IVT or IWV. ECMWF is interpolated to match GFS resolution horizontally and vertically. Positive values (green-blue) indicate that the ECMWF is higher than the GFS and negative values (yellow-red) indicate the GFS is higher than the ECMWF.
